Holders Manchester United drawn against Arsenal in enthralling FA Cup third round tie
Title holders Manchester United have been drawn against record 14-times winners Arsenal in a mouthwatering FA Cup third round tie in January, while Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea were all drawn at home to fourth-tier rivals.
United, who defeated neighbours Manchester City to lift the trophy for a 13th time in May, visit the Gunners in the Premier League on Wednesday, a little over a month before their FA Cup fixture.
The only other all-Premier League showdown features seven-time winners Aston Villa against visiting West Ham United at Villa Park.
In other marquee match-ups, Premier League leaders Liverpool welcome Accrington Stanley while Manchester City host the ‘Class of 92’-owned Salford City.
Tamworth, one of only two non-league clubs remaining in the competition, entertain eight-times winners Tottenham and Leicester City face Queens Park Rangers.
Elsewhere, Chelsea host League Two’s bottom club Morecambe, whose fellow fourth-tier strugglers Bromley travel to face Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Brighton and Hove Albion, fourth in the Premier League, travel to Championship Norwich City and Championship leaders Sheffield United host Cardiff City.
The third round, which is where the 44 Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition, will be held from January 9-13.
