Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says the historic reduction in crime for February is cause for celebration as it indicates Jamaica’s progress in being a safe space to live, do business and grow children.

In February, Jamaica recorded 47 murders, the lowest homicide rate in 25 years.

Speaking at a special post-Cabinet press briefing this morning, Dr. Morris Dixon noted that the reduction shows that Jamaica is moving in the right direction in its crime-fighting strategies.
