Heavy winds disrupt electricity supply in several parishes
Several customers in six parishes remain without electricity this afternoon, following heavy winds which disrupted supply.
Director of Corporate Communications at the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Winsome Callum says the power outage affected about ten percent of JPS customers.
She says power was restored for the majority.
However, Ms. Callum says some customers in Manchester, St. Catherine and Kingston and St. Andrew are still with power.
JPS expects to restore service by nine this evening.
