Hear the Children’s Cry says violence among students due to dysfunctional families
Founder of Hear the Children’s Cry Betty Ann Blaine says the violence taking place in the island’s schools is a result of dysfunctional homes.
Her comment follows the fatal stabbing of a female student at the Kingston Technical High School on Thursday.
Speaking to Irie Fm news on Friday morning, Ms Blaine said until family life is fixed these incidents will repeat themselves.
She said the government must invest more in finding solutions for the problem, noting that a curriculum should be introduced that will allow students to desist from resorting to violence.
She stressed that there is an answer to the problem, but the required actions must be taken.
