Hear the Children’s Cry renews call for MOE to modify PEP exams to have compulsory, graded component including parents

There is a renewed appeal for the Education Ministry to modify the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations to have a compulsory and graded component that would include parents.

Director of the advocacy group, Hear the Children’s Cry, Nigel Cooper explains that this additional PEP component would allow adults to demonstrate healthy parenting practices.

Mr. Cooper says the aim is to strategically use the education system to improve the bond between parent and child and by extension aspects of the family.

Despite being a graded assessment, Mr. Cooper says it would not be highly advanced to deter parents with literacy challenges.
