Health Minister Dr. Tufton says no need for panic over latest outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease in the country
Amidst concern from citizens, Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. Christopher Tufton has stressed that there is no need for panic over the latest outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease, in the country.
He said the authorities have done the right thing by containing the disease which is an annual occurrence.
Earlier this week, the authorities suspended face-to-face classes at Chandler’s Pen Infant and Primary School in Clarendon, after four suspected cases of the disease were reported among students from the infant department.
Dr. Tufton noted that there are cases of the disease every year and that early identification is important so that they can be responded to appropriately.
