Harbour View capitalize on Match Day 33 results in Jamaica Premier League
Former champions Harbour View were the biggest beneficiaries of Sunday’s results in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League, securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Dunbeholden. The win, thanks to a 43rd-minute own goal by Richard Brown, provided the much-needed daylight between Harbour View and the relegation zone, lifting them to 10th place with 31 points.
The result broke a three-way tie, with Harbour View now ahead of both Humble Lion and Molynes United, who are both on 29 points. Humble Lion and Molynes United played out a tense 1-1 draw at Drewsland, with Richard Ramsey putting Humble Lion in front in the 1st minute, while Nickache Murray equalized for Molynes United in the 57th minute.
Meanwhile, at Drax Hall, the clash between league leaders Mount Pleasant and Tivoli Gardens ended in a goalless draw. Both teams walked away with a point, with Mount Pleasant maintaining their top spot with 69 points, while Tivoli Gardens remain in 6th place, holding on to the final playoff spot with 46 points.
In other action, Racing United earned a vital 2-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Vere United. Goals from Nickyle Ellis in the 12th minute and Tyrone Mullings in the 90th minute sealed the victory, helping Racing United strengthen their position in the mid-table. They are now in 7th place on 44 points and 2 points away from a playoff spot.
At the Catherine Hall Sports Complex, Montego Bay United and Portmore United played out a scoreless draw, a result that kept the Montegonians in 3rd place with 65 points, while Portmore remained 4th with 54 points.
Match Day 33 concludes on Monday with another two key fixtures. Waterhouse, sitting in 8th place on goal difference, will take on Chapelton Maroons at 5:00 p.m., followed by second-place Arnett Gardens (65 points) facing defending champions Cavalier, who are in 5th place with 48 points.
