Hanover farmer charged with murder, after man shot last January succumbed
A Hanover farmer who reportedly entered the home of a man and shot him last year January has been charged with murder after the wounded man succumbed, last month.
Charged with the murder of 41 year old Sheldon Salmon, of Pell River District is 32 year old Romaine Cunningham otherwise called ‘Mango’, also from the community.
Reports are that on Sunday, January 21, 2024, Salmon was at home when men knocked on the door of the house and identified themselves as police.
After Salmon refused to answer, the men kicked the door open, entered the house and opened gunfire at Salmon, hitting him multiple times.
The men then escaped on foot in the area.
The police were alerted and Salmon was taken to hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
Salmon succumbed to his wounds on Thursday, December 26, last year.
Cunningham was arrested on Saturday, December 28, and later charged.
His court date is being finalized.
