Hands!!!! Reggae Boyz rue costly error that kicked them out of World Cup

Jamaica is ruing their elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, after it was revealed that the Democratic Republic of Congo made progress over the Reggae Boys on a hands ball.

The Inter Confederation playoff final was decided on a 100th minute strike from defender Axel Tuanzebe, which was later revealed to have been handled by the Burnley defender.

A VAR check during the game gave the greenlight for the goal to be allowed , but it has now been revealed that the defender handled the ball which kicked the Reggae Boyz out of World Cup contention.

The Jamaica Football Federation is expected to make representation to footballs world governing body FIF on the matter

The victory for DR Congo qualified them for the World Cup – their first appearance since 1974 to play and will join Group K, alongside Uzbekistan and Colombia.

They will face Portugal in Houston to open their World Cup campaign this June.
