HAJ criticizes some contractors for not performing efficiently
Written bySugar Ray Thomas
Managing Director of the Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) Doreen Prendergast has criticized some of the island’s contractors for not performing efficiently.
She said this inefficiency is dragging out project timelines and causing delays in completing housing developments on schedule.
Mrs. Prendergast was speaking at the Ministry of Economic Growth and Infrastructure Development’s World Habitat Day Exposition yesterday.
Responding to a question on some challenges affecting housing supply and delivery in Jamaica, she pointed to the country’s labour force challenges especially in the construction industry.
Mrs. Prendergast explained that construction workers hired for some projects directly affect both the quality and the speed of the construction.
