Green assures that acquired generators for use in Hurricane Beryl response will be secured
Member of Parliament for South West St. Elizabeth Floyd Green has sought to assure that generators being acquired for use in the Hurricane Beryl response effort, will be secured.
This in the wake of concerns about theft, especially after reports that robbers held up a shop operator in the Burnt Ground District, and took the generator.
The machines are now in high demand, especially in St Elizabeth, as much of the parish remains without electricity.
The government is using generators at several NWC pumps across the parish, to restore water supply to residents.
Mr. Green pointed out that steps have been taken to protect the powerful, and very expensive, generator recently placed at a national water commission pumping station in the parish.
He explained that the NWC and National Irrigation Commission sites where more generators will be placed, have perimeter fencing and the areas will be properly manned.
