Reviews have been great following last night’s private screening of the movie ‘Someone Loves You’ held at JAMPRO in Kingston.
The film directed by Amanda Mandii and Victoria Perry stars Reggae singer Nadine Sutherland who is making her acting debut.
The narrative short film follows the estranged members of a Jamaican family in New York City as they cope with the slowly declining health of their once- famous artist, beloved matriarch.
Speaking with IRIE FM, Reggae singer Tommy Cowan who was in attendance at the private screening said the performance by Nadine Sutherland was so convincing he wondered if she had gone crazy in real life.
And legendary Producer, Gussie Clarke says Nadine’s performance was effortlessly on-point as he hailed the very relevant storyline. He says he only wished the film lasted longer than 24 minutes.
The film debuted at the Black River Film Festival recently and heads to the Essence Film Festival in July.
