Government Senator Dr. Saphire Longmore has called for a public education campaign about home schooling. 

She made the statement at this morning’s sitting of the Senate, where the Jamaica Teaching Council Act was examined. 

Senator Longmore noted that persons who choose to homeschool their children will have to learn and abide by the stipulations of the act when passed into law. 

She said a public education campaign will be needed to ensure that the regulations are observed.
