Gov’t: road repair challenges not linked to lack of resources but persistent rains

The Government says the challenges to road repairs across the island are not linked to an inability to find resources but are due to recent persistent rains.

Concern about the number of potholes on roadways, and the pace at which they are being repaired has been a sore point for many motorists in the country.

Minister with responsibility for Works, Robert Morgan this morning re-emphasized the Government’s commitment to address the issue.

He said the pleas of citizens have not fallen on deaf ears.

Meanwhile, Mr. Morgan also noted that the additional $2 billion allocated for emergency patching was approved and work will start soon.
