Gov’t reports 60% increase in cybercrime incidents in Jamaica
Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ambassador Rocky Meade says there has been a 60% increase in cybercrimes in Jamaica.
He was speaking this morning (October 26) at an event in observance of National Cyber-Security Awareness Day.
He says it’s important to accept digital transformation and that it will come with challenges.
He adds that the types of cyber-attacks have also increased.
He says cyber incidents response teams across the world have a duty to respond to ensure business continuity.
