Gov’t reassures public and tourism stakeholders that Jamaica’s tourism sector remains safe and stable

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has moved to reassure the public and tourism stakeholders that Jamaica’s tourism sector remains safe and stable after Hurricane Melissa.

Dr. Tufton said assessments so far have revealed no significant risks to facilities that cater to tourists and there is no advisory in place discouraging travel or visits to Jamaica.

He added that the ministry continues to monitor conditions in collaboration with tourism stakeholders to maintain safety across the sector.
