Gov’t launches public sector flexible work arrangement

The government has officially launched the implementation of the flexible work arrangement within the public sector.
The ceremony was held at Jamaica house in Kingston.
The arrangement is intended to increase employment opportunities, enhance productivity and afford workers the opportunity to better structure their lives through a flexible employee/employer work agreement.
Minister of Efficiency, and Innovation Ambassador Audrey Marks said the initiative represents an important step in Jamaica’s ongoing public sector transformation programme.
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) has welcomed the government’s decision to implement a flexible work arrangement as a national initiative.
JCTU President, St. Patrice Ennis, said the arrangement represents a timely and important step in modernizing Jamaica’s work force.
