Gov’t examining Senate composition and will name replacement for Matthew Samuda
Prime Minister Andrew Holness yesterday noted that government is examining the composition of the Senate, and will name a replacement for former Senator Matthew Samuda, soon.
Mr. Samuda resigned from the Senate in September and was later elected Member of Parliament for North East St. Ann in a by-election.
The seat became vacant following the resignation of Marsha Smith.
Speaking at yesterday’s Post Cabinet Press Briefing, Mr. Holness noted that government is focused on refreshing its human resources, including for the Senate.
