The government has successfully completed negotiations with the selected contractor for the multi million dollar SPARK road improvement project.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness gave the update while addressing Parliament yesterday.

Earlier this year, the government opened the competitive bidding process for the programme, which saw 5 entities, local and international, submitting proposals for 4 construction packages. 

Mr. Holness said one contractor emerged the preferred bidder for all 4 packages.

He said the negotiations resulted in a reduced contract price. 

Mr. Holness said as it relates to accompanying water pipeline works, the contractor for that aspect of the SPARK programme, has also been selected.
