The government will be spending approximately $1-Billion to improve the Ocho Rios Market in St. Ann.
The market has been in a state of disrepair for some time with vendors making numerous appeals for renovations especially to the bathroom facilities.
In an update, the Prime Minister said the process is advancing steadily.
He stressed the importance of a clean market to the productivity of the society.
Minister Holness was speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) meeting at the Marcus Garvey Technical High School in Northeast St. Ann yesterday.
