Government to review labour laws related to employment conditions and constitutional rights, particularly religious rights
The Labour Ministry will begin a review of labour laws in relation to employment conditions and constitutional rights, particularly religious rights later this year.
Portfolio Minister Pearnel Charles noted that while most job environments support people‘s religious practices and beliefs, there is need to ensure that the Employment Flexible Work Arrangement Miscellaneous Provisions Act, provides an opportunity to modernise the labour market.
Speaking on Thursday at the Religious Liberty Summit, Charles Jnr noted that the Flexi Work Act aligns with the rights outlined in the constitution, to include a person‘s religious practices.

The International Labour Organisation, (ILO) will be assisting the ministry with the review.
