The government says it will assist citizens impacted by Hurricane Beryl, through its $1 billion relief programme, within another few weeks.

That’s according to Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Junior.

He made reference to Prime Minster Andrew Holness’ announcement about $1 billion being earmarked to restore, reconstruct and relocate houses impacted by the July 3, hurricane.

Mr Charles Junior sought to assure the nation that government is working to restore normality.

He said restoration work has started in some communities, in collaboration with stakeholder partners.
