Government Senator, Dr. Elon Thompson has accused Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes of using the suspected mould issue at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) operating theatre to score political points.

Yesterday, Dr. Dawes held a press conference to comment on the matter, as well as other issues affecting the health sector.

In a statement today, Senator Dr. Thompson who is a former president of the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association described Dr. Dawes’ move as unfortunate partisanship and clear opportunism.

Senator Thompson also noted that he has been reliably informed that the Ministry of Health is at an advanced stage of fixing the issue at KPH.

Dr. Thompson said while there are issues within the health sector, the Government’s efforts must be acknowledged.
