The Government says it is conducting an assessment to determine which schools can resume classes.
Those institutions not badly affected by Hurricane Melissa will be reopened next Monday, November 3.
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon made the disclosure during a special press briefing yesterday.
She also explained that an emergency plan will be developed for children residing in parishes severely impacted by the Category 5 hurricane.
These are Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James and St. Elizabeth.
Dr. Morris Dixon stressed that for right now, the main focus is getting food and other assistance to those in need.
