Government says construction period for houses under New Social Housing Programme reduced
The government says it has reduced significantly the construction period for houses being delivered under the New Social Housing Programme.
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness explains that in some cases, the homes have been constructed in five weeks.
However, Dr. Holness notes that processes relating to the assessment of beneficiaries and the securement of land, among other things, may pose time-consuming challenges.
He was speaking at the contract signing and groundbreaking ceremony for the Hibiscus Development in St. Andrew yesterday.
