Government reports 90% take-up of public sector flexi-work arrangement
There has been a 90% take-up of the flexible work arrangement in the public sector.
Phase one of the programme was launched on January 29 and implemented on February 2 this year.
Minister of Efficiency, Innovation and Digital Transformation Ambassador Audrey Marks gave the update at yesterday’s Post Cabinet Press Briefing.
Under the initiative public sector workers are encouraged to utilize staggered working hours where possible.
The arrangement aims to improve work-life balance and boost productivity, giving employees and employers the opportunity to organise the traditional 40-hour workweek, as it best suits their needs.
Ms. Marks said the remaining 10% of ministries, agencies and departments are expected to implement the flexi-work arrangement by month end.
Ambassador Marks stated that the Government has to ensure that government services are available in the digital space, especially in the event of a disaster.
