Government reportedly spent a record $8.7 billion on road infrastructure last fiscal year

The Government reportedly spent 8.7 billion dollars on road infrastructure in the last fiscal year, Jamaica’s highest-ever allocation to road maintenance, repairs and development.

This historic milestone was achieved by the Works Ministry, through its primary entity, the National Works Agency (NWA).

Minister with responsibility for works, Robert Morgan says this unprecedented commitment underscores the Government’s dedication to modernising Jamaica’s road network, enhancing connectivity, and improving road safety.

The Government has already set ambitious targets for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, intending to sustain and surpass those set in the previous fiscal year.

The Works Ministry assured that even more communities across Jamaica will soon experience the positive impacts of comprehensive road infrastructure enhancements.
