Government remains committed to constructing ramps in schools says Williams
Education Minister Fayval Williams says the government remains committed to implementing ramps in public schools islandwide.
She made the statement while giving an update on the construction of ramps to aid disabled students in a post-cabinet press briefing on Wednesday.
According to Minister Williams, the aim is to have every public school outfitted with ramps.
She said one of the most recent projects was done at the Merlgrove High school in Kingston.
The issue of ramps at school came to the fore recently, after a disabled student was reportedly told that she could not attend the high school at which she was placed, after sitting her pep examinations, due to the lack of ramps at the institution.
Following that incident, Education Minister Fayval Williams revealed that over 300 ramps were installed in public schools islandwide.
