The government has pledged to assist home owners in St Elizabeth whose dwellings were damaged by Hurricane Beryl.

An estimated one hundred homes are affected.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness toured sections of St Elizabeth on Thursday, for a first hand view of the damage caused by the storm.

Mr Holness noted that, generally, the island was spared.
