Government must maintain last year’s murder tally or further reduce it – Bunting
Opposition Senator and Spokesman on National Security Peter Bunting says government must seek to maintain last year’s murder tally or further reduce the number.
A total of 1,139 people were murdered across the island last year – a reduction of 265 murders in comparison to 2023.
Speaking in the senate this afternoon, Mr. Bunting said the figure was still too high.
In the meantime, he said the reduction which occurred after the States of Emergency ended, shows that the measure is ineffective.
