The government has earmarked $50-million for a Soil Regeneration Project, which is to be implemented across the country.
The programme which was launched yesterday, is dubbed soil regeneration and fertility improvement.
Speaking at the ceremony, Agriculture Minister Floyd Green noted that the programme will introduce farmers to organic principles that hopefully lead to the regeneration of soil.
He added that the government is also collaborating with international partners, such as the United States, on other projects aimed at landscape restoration and sustainable food systems.
