Government determined to correct low level of participation by MSME’s in public procurement

Finance Minister Fayval Williams says the Government is determined to correct the low level of participation by Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSME’s) in public procurement.
Speaking at the launch of the upgraded Government of Jamaica Electronic Procurement 2.0 Platform, Mrs. Williams said expanding MSME participation remains a key priority.
She noted that MSME’s account for only about one percent of the Government’s annual procurement spending.
Mrs. Williams said increasing the participation of MSME’s in Government procurement will support business growth and broader economic development.
