Government allocates additional $7m to some constituencies for hurricane recovery efforts
The government has allocated an additional $7 million to some constituencies for recovery efforts, following the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
The additional funding falls under the Relief Emergency Assistance and Community Help Reach Programme.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness told Parliament yesterday that after the initial $5 million has been used up an additional $4 million will be made available.
This will help affected residents to repair the roofs of their homes, among other things.
He said another $3 million will be made available for the constituencies that were affected severely.
