Golding urges PM Holness to call the next general election, as he says the PNP is ready

Opposition Leader Mark Golding says the People’s National Party (PNP) is ready for the next general election.

He has urged Prime Minister Andrew Holness to announce the date.

Speaking at yesterday’s annual PNP conference, Mr. Golding chided the governing Jamaica Labour Party for its handling of the country.

He said for too long citizens have been pleading for livable wages, especially public servants to include police and teachers.

He said the island’s public servants are deserving of respect and the next PNP administration will guarantee they get it.

The Opposition Leader said he will sound the trumpet should Prime Minister Holness call the election.
