Golding says PNP budget proposals would cost $23b
Opposition Leader Mark Golding says the proposals his party highlighted during the budget debate, will only cost $23b.
He made the statement during the People’s National Party (PNP) post budget press conference today.
It came after Finance Minister Fayval Williams, in her presentation to the close the debate yesterday, said the Opposition put forward an implied budget.
She pointed out that the Opposition did not give any costing for the many promises, during their contribution to the debate.
The Finance Minister claimed that the promises made by the PNP would cost the country and result in Finsac 2.0.
Mr. Golding maintained that the PNP did not put forward an implied budget.
Commenting on the overall budget debate, Mr. Golding said he believes Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ presentation was inappropriately long.
