Golding says no PNP parliamentarian is among 8 referred to the IC for illicit enrichment

Opposition Leader Mark Golding has maintained that none of his Members of Parliament is among the eight referred to the Integrity Commission (IC) for investigations regarding illicit enrichment.

The declaration follows yesterday’s announcement by the commission that 8 parliamentarians were referred to its investigation division for illicit enrichment between April 2022 and March 2024.

In a statement, Mr. Golding said he consulted with all 22 parliamentarians (MPs and Senators) representing the People’s National Party (PNP) and each confirmed that to their knowledge, they are not being investigated by the IC for illicit enrichment.

While the Integrity Commission has maintained the confidentiality of those referred, it has confirmed that the individuals under investigation have been informed of their status.

Mr. Golding said the PNP remains committed to cooperating fully with the Integrity Commission and supporting its mission to ensure integrity in public life.

He called on all parliamentarians to uphold the highest ethical standards.
