Golding says no opposition MP referred for investigation by the IC in relation to illicit enrichment
Opposition leader Mark Golding says no member of parliament affiliated with the People’s National Party was referred for investigation, by the Integrity Commission’s Director of Information and Complaints, in relation to the offence of illicit enrichment, in the last fiscal year.
His statement comes after the commission’s annual report tabled in the Senate on Friday revealed that two parliamentarians and 4 public officials, were referred for investigation for the offence.
Speaking at a PNP divisional conference in St. Andrew yesterday, Mr. Golding said he questioned all opposition MPs and they confirmed that to their knowledge they are not being investigated by the commission.
He called on leader of the governing Jamaica Labour Party, Dr. Andrew Holness to weigh in on the issue.
