Golden Day for Jamaica at Special Olympic World Winter Games in Turin Italy
It was a golden day for jamaica on Friday after the country’s athletes came up with three gold medals at the Special Olympic World winter Games in Turin Italy.
Brothers Dale and Dave Oddman came up with gold medals in the morning session of today’s programme, with Dale snatching the gold in the men’s (M08 division) 500 meters speed track race in 2 minute 52.78 seconds, …………………….and Dave topped the field in the men’s (M05 division)…..1000metres event, crossing the line in 4 minute 27.62 seconds.
In the same 1000 metres event dale won a second medal on the day when he finished second to take the silver behind his brother in 5 minutes 25.94 seconds.
The gold medal performances continued in the evening session for team Jamaica when the male floorball team beat poland 3-1 in the final of their event.
The team returns to the island on Monday.
