In a significant step toward integrating Sport and Education, the GC Foster College of Education and Sport has formalized an agreement with Mount Pleasant Football Academy.

It took the form of a 45-hour sport management course which was tailored for male student-athletes under the age of 18. 

This initiative will equip young footballers with foundational knowledge in areas such as sport administration, governance, finance and planning, leadership, marketing, and event planning. 

The programme underscores the importance of dual career pathways, ensuring that young athletes are prepared not only for performance on the field but also for opportunities within the broader sport industry. 

A total of eight young men participated in the programme and all eight completed the semester successfully. 

In another innovative move, the college has also partnered with the Development Bank of Jamaica to launch a business of sport pitch series aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the sport sector.
