Garth Gayle and Vilma Charlton Honoured for Outstanding Contributions to Regional Athletics
Stalwarts of Jamaican track and field, Garth Gayle and Vilma Charlton, have been honoured for their exceptional and dedicated service to the sport across the North American, Central American, and Caribbean region, at the World Athletics Congress held in Tokyo, Japan.
Gayle, who is currently serving in his second stint as President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), received the prestigious Veterans Pin in recognition of his long-standing commitment and leadership in athletics.
Charlton, a former Olympian and trailblazer for women in the sport, was awarded a Plaque of Merit for her enduring impact and contributions to track and field.

She holds a sprint relay gold medal from the 1966 Central American and the Caribbean (CAC) Games,
