The funeral service of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle is underway.

The service, which began at 11:00 AM is taking place at the Kencot Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingston.

Scores of people, including relatives and members of the media are in attendance.

Seventy-seven-year-old Gayle was killed at her Caymanas Country Club home in St. Catherine in December last year.

Twenty-four-year-old Travis Ellis has been charged with her murder.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on May 26.
