Portland’s Chief Public Health Inspector, Lorenzo Humes says four vendors at the Boston Jerk Centre in the parish were fined a total of $110,000 for not having valid food handler’s permits.

He said the Public Health Department regularly monitors the jerk centre and on September 6, closed the facility due to health breaches.

Addressing the monthly meeting of the Portland Municipal Corporation yesterday, Mr. Humes said the fines represent the seriousness at which his department takes public health.
