Four people arrested following seizure of over 100 parcels of compressed ganja in St. Mary
Four people have been detained in connection with the seizure of more than 100 parcels of compressed ganja on the Retreat and Rio Nuevo main roads, in St. Mary Thursday evening.
Reports are that at about 8:00 PM, lawmen were conducting an operation along the roadways when a 2014 black Toyota Noah and a 2013 grey Toyota Axio were signalled to stop.
The occupants obeyed the lawmen, but immediately fled both vehicles.
A search of the vehicles was carried out and twenty knitted bags containing 118 parcels of vegetable matter, resembling ganja, were reportedly found in the Toyota Noah.
Lawmen later intercepted a 2018 white Toyota Corolla Axio, which cops theorise was the pilot vehicle.
The 3 men and one woman aboard the Axio, were arrested on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act. Investigations are ongoing.
