Former PNP minister K.D. Knight suing JLP, Dr. Tufton over playing of mass rally audio

Former Minister under the People’s National Party (PNP) administration, Kings Counsel K.D. Knight says he is taking legal action against the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton, following the playing of an audio recording at the JLP’s rally on Sunday.

According to Mr. Knight, the audio of what seemed to be his voice which was played at the JLP’s meeting in Half-Way Tree, St. Andrew during Dr. Tufton’s speech is a malicious fabrication.

Mr. Knight said he has never at any time, in any forum or under any circumstance made statements suggesting that PNP President Mark Golding is unfit to be Prime Minister.

The Kings Counsel said the recording was altered and the words are a deliberate concoction designed to deceive the public and tarnish his reputation.

Mr. Knight said he has instructed his attorneys to pursue immediate legal action against the JLP, Dr. Tufton and all parties involved in the creation and dissemination of the recording.
