Former NESol official sentenced to 9 months imprisonment for corruption and financial crimes
Former Senior Official at National Energy Solutions Limited, NESol, Lawrence Pommels, has been convicted and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment for corruption and financial crimes.
The Financial Investigations Division, FID, said its investigations, over several years, revealed significant breaches of government procurement guidelines and mismanagement of public funds.
On Monday, Pommels pleaded guilty to 2 counts of corruption and 6 counts of possession of criminal property.
He was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment on each count; they will run concurrently.
Pommels will return to court on June 20, in relation to a notice of request for committal filed by the asset recovery agency.
