Flow enlists skilled technicians from Costa Rica & Panama to bolster restoration efforts
Telecommunications provider Flow has taken steps to expedite its local restoration efforts by leveraging support and resources from the region.
The company has enlisted a team of thirty skilled technicians from Costa Rica and Panama who will work to further bolster the efforts of its local team.
The technicians bring specialized knowledge in fibre optic technology, network infrastructure repair, and rapid disaster recovery techniques.
Flow says eight of the technicians have already arrived on the island from Costa Rica, with the remaining 22 from panama set to arrive by August 24.
General Manager of Flow, Stephen Price, says the addition of the skilled workers from the region will allow the company to accelerate restoration.
He says flow, while focused on restoring services to those affected, is also working to boost the resilience of its network and to bolster its capacity to better serve customers.
Hurricane Beryl, which impacted the island on July 3, affected flow internet, cable, and voice services for over 2,000 communities.
To date, Flow says service has been restored to 1,828 communities.
The remaining areas are being upgraded to Flow’s fibre network.
The company adds that mobile service coverage now stands at 96 per cent.
