Flow retires 2G network
After nearly two decades of service, telecommunications provider Flow, has retired fully its 2G network.
The network, was introduced in the early 2000s, and the company has been phasing it out since 2022.
Starting today, Flow customers who have not replaced their 2G-only devices, will not be able to make and receive calls or text messages or utilize mobile data.
Other gadgets such as tracking devices, dongles and other 2G-only Internet of Things (IoT’s) will also be unable to connect to the flow network.
Flow says by retiring the 2G network, it can reutilize the spectrum to improve 3G and 4G connectivity.
This change, it states will deliver faster data speeds and additional coverage, while also paving the way for future innovations in wireless technology.
