Flow restores 82% of normal mobile traffic, following disruptions due to Hurricane Melissa

Telecommunications company Flow has restored 82 percent of normal mobile traffic, following disruptions due to Hurricane Melissa.

In an update today Flow also said 46 percent of its mobile sites are online.

It explained that some sites were impacted by damage or power availability.

Flow added that it has deployed 22 new generators to cell sites in Westmoreland and St. James.

It said restoration efforts have enabled thousands of customers in Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James, Trelawny and St. Elizabeth to regain connectivity.

To date, over a hundred thousand customers have used the flow / star link emergency communications network to send SMS messages.

Flow said it is working earnestly to reconnect its residential and business customers, islandwide.
