Flava McGregor slams Vybz Kartel’s performance — Mr. Vegas blames Nuffy
Billboard producer Kemar “Flava” McGregor is calling out Vybz Kartel after his recent performance in Tortola.
According to McGregor, Kartel’s performance was disappointing and didn’t represent Reggae and Dancehall properly. He took to Instagram, sharing a video to express his frustration.
Seemingly responding to critics, Kartel fired back in his Instagram story, stating: “Bun hate… Badmind muss kumdung.”
Meanwhile, Dancehall deejay Mr. Vegas has shifted the blame to emcee Nuffy, accusing him of overdoing his role. In a social media video, Vegas urged producer and Kartel’s manager TJ to take the mic from Nuffy after introducing Kartel in the future.
However, MC Nuffy posted the viral video along with the caption, “Viral a viral bad emcee a bad emcee let them keep talking.”
Meanwhile, Skatta Burrell, who was also in Tortola with Vybz Kartel, didn’t hold back in defending MC Nuffy after a social media user echoed sentiments similar to Mr. Vegas.
In the comments of a post Skatta shared showing Nuffy hyping up Kartel’s performance, a fan wrote:
“Nuffy mek we cyaa hear di artist good star. Sometimes yuh fi jus chill out star. Anyway, wul dem DJ.”
Skatta swiftly clapped back, responding:
“Nuffy was and is always excellent.”
Vybz Kartel is set to perform at two highly anticipated back-to-back shows at the Barclays Center in New York on April 11 and 12. These performances will mark his first on US soil in over 20 years.
