Flash Flood Watch in effect for 5 parishes
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of 5 parishes, until 7:00 p.m tomorrow.
They are St. Mary, Portland, St. Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester.
A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible, and residents should take precautionary measures.
The Met Service says the watch is due to a trough across parts of the Caribbean which has been generating unstable weather conditions across Jamaica since Friday.
As a result, showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, are expected to continue across Jamaica, especially during the afternoons until Tuesday evening.
Fishers and other marine interests should exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.
